Amanda grew up in London and started dancing at the age of 4. Tony began at 10 at his home town Hilversum, Holland. Amanda’s first dance school was the famous Benny Tolymeyer’s, where she started children’s classes. Interestingly, Benny was Dutch and was also Tony’s first main teacher in Holland!
Before partnering with Tony, Amanda had danced with Jonathan Wilkins, Timothy Howson, Luca Baricchi and Andrew Sinkinson, becoming British champion. Tony had been successfully competing with his sister winning Dutch Champions title.
Tony and Amanda joined forces in 1996 and got married in 2002. They reached finals of all major championships around the world and retired in 2008. They continue teaching and adjudicating around the world together.
